Birth package

Pregnancy comes with a crowd: appointments, apps, opinions, other people's birth stories. What it rarely comes with is one calm person whose only job is you. Someone who knows the landscape, has real time for your questions, and will still be beside you at 3am when it all begins.

What changes

Where this work takes you

You go into labour knowing your options, with a plan that bends without breaking and a familiar face who stays. Not a promise about how the birth will go, nobody honest can offer that, but a promise that you will never face it unsupported and that your voice stays in the room.

This is a good fit if

  • You're expecting your first baby and want to walk in feeling prepared rather than lectured
  • Your first birth was hard, and this time you want steady, familiar support from someone who knows your story
  • You have a partner who wants to be brilliant on the day and would quietly love some backup too

It's not the right fit if

  • I'm not a medical professional. Doulas support, midwives provide medical care, and I work alongside your midwifery team, never instead of them
  • If your due date is only a few weeks away, message me anyway. I can't always take late bookings, but I'll help you find a doula who can

How it unfolds

  1. Two antenatal visits

Unhurried afternoons at your kitchen table. We go through your options, your preferences and your worries, and we build a plan with room in it for the day to be itself.

  2. On call from 38 weeks

My phone is on day and night and my diary is kept clear. When labour starts you call, and I come: to your home, the hospital or the birth centre, wherever your birth is happening.

  3. The birth and after

I stay through the birth: reassurance, comfort measures, a steady voice when decisions come up. A few days later I'm back at yours with tea, newborn answers and all the time you need to talk it through.

Every session includes

  • A free meet-and-chat before anything is booked
  • Two antenatal visits at your home
  • On call for you day and night from 38 weeks until your baby arrives
  • Continuous support through your birth, however it unfolds
  • One postnatal visit to talk it all through
  • Payment plan available: the fee splits into three instalments

Holly never once told us what to do. She made sure we knew our options, and then she backed us. When plans changed on the night she was the calmest person in the room, and the calm was catching.

Asked before booking

What if you're ill or at another birth when I go into labour?

I take at most two due dates a month precisely so this stays unlikely, and I have a backup arrangement with two trusted local doulas for the rare times life insists. You'd meet or speak with the backup doula in advance, so it's never a stranger at the door.

Do you support home births, hospital births and caesareans?

All of them, with equal enthusiasm. My job is to support the birth you choose and the birth that happens, and both deserve the same steady company. Where hospital rules limit who can be in theatre, I support you right up to the doors, look after your partner, and I'm there for you all afterwards.
