Terms & cancellation

A starting point, not legal advice. Adapt these terms to your own practice before relying on them.

Packages and fees

Every price is published in full on the packages page, always visible, never "on application". The birth package is £900, payable in three instalments if that suits you better: one when you book, one at 36 weeks, one after the birth. Nobody plans a baby around a lump sum. Postnatal support is £25 an hour, with visits of three hours or more, invoiced after each visit or weekly if you have a regular slot. Fees are reviewed once a year and never change mid-package.

The on-call promise

From 38 weeks until your baby arrives I am on call for you day and night, and I take at most two due dates a month to keep that promise honest. For the rare occasions life insists, I hold a backup arrangement with two trusted local doulas, and you will meet or speak with your backup in advance. If, despite all of that, no doula reaches your birth, the birth-support portion of your fee comes straight back to you.

Cancellation

Life with babies is unpredictable, and the policy tries to be fair in both directions:

  • Postnatal visits cancelled with more than 24 hours' notice are never charged. With less notice than that, half the booked time may be charged, though a hard newborn night is exactly the kind of thing I'm understanding about.
  • The birth package: if your plans change, we talk honestly. You pay only for the support you've already had, and any instalments already paid are returned.
  • If I cancel a planned visit, you'll never be charged and we rearrange at a time that works for you.

The work itself

Doula support is a professional service with a clear boundary: doulas support, midwives provide medical care. I work within Doula UK's code of conduct, hold full professional insurance, and will always point clinical questions back to your maternity team.

Privacy, in brief

What I see and hear in your home, and in your birth room, stays private. The narrow exceptions are the ones the law and basic safety require, and I explain those plainly at our first planning visit.
